i'm living here now.
i have a going away party to go to on saturday. it better be happening.
the fall are amazing.
only 15 more days until i move.

"David Browne's long-awaited Sonic Youth bio, "Goodbye 20th Century," is out this week in the U.S. and UK. It includes new interviews with the band and their family, friends and colleagues, and 64 rare photos. The advance buzz has been strong: "an expressway to the soul of the influential band" (Vanity Fair), "compulsively readable" (Publishers Weekly), and "a rollicking, epic biography" (Salon). Rolling Stone has a sneak peak at some of its photos up now on its site. You can order on Amazon".
i just bought the book and i haven't been so excited to read a book since i got "the fall" by albert camus. i was going to start reading it after i finished my 33 1/3 series velvet underground book, but that will have to wait. i'm too excited about this book to not read it right now. the pictures in it (the one above is one of them) are amazing. almost all of them i haven't even seen before.
i have 8 days until i can get my free tickets to see sonic youth. i'll be sure to log on right at noon to get them.
i was to get the dvd entitled, "berlin underground 1979-1983", but it's impossible to find. a lot of good experimental music came from germany in the "post punk era". aside from einsturzende neubauten, mostly everything is over looked for some reason. aside from the einsturzende neubauten tracks my favorite track off the album is borzig. i strongly recommend downloading that track if anything else. die haut and mania d are two other great bands. mania d sounds kind of like a german lilliput but a little more no waveish. i'm downloading the album by torrent, but every track is on that blog. i want the dvd just to see the films that were coming out of germany at that time. i have no idea what they are, but it still intrigues me.
i hate when people break a glass and not tell the other person so the other person (me) cuts their pinky open so bad that it's still bleeding after five hours. idiots.
i hope she actually does visit me when i move. i haven't seen her in three years and we have plenty of catching up to do. i'm confused though. on one hand i would really like to start something beyond a friendship with her, but on the other hand i enjoy her friendship very much and i don't want to mess shit up. plus, i don't know if i ever want to deal with long distance ever again. i'll probably just go with staying good friends with her no matter what. there will always be, in the back of my head, that urge to want to date her. i think even when i'm with someone else there will be that urge for some reason.

i actually troll this board as bongzilla666. yeah i'm a dork, but it's so fun. my posts are watched carefully now though and have to be approved since i post some gnarly stuff sometimes. actually, after a bit it gets boring.
i have to log in the downtown nyc river to river site ( www.rivertorivernyc.com) at noon on june 12th to make sure i get my free tickets for the sonic youth show at battery park. sonic youth have been my favorite band forever now and without them cross referencing so many other artists (musical and non musical) i don't think i would be into the stuff i am into today. the only thing is that ,due to me being stuck in florida, i never had a chance to see them live. the last time they came was 1998 or 1999 with pearl jam and they played west palm beach. i had no way of getting to that show at that time (if they played there now, i would be there in a heartbeat).
so yeah i'm psyched about seeing them. even if my time in new york city doesn't turn out so great (i doubt that), at least i can say i finally saw sonic youth live.
i wonder if mark ibold will be their bass player for that show.
i want lee's effects pedals.
so the other day i went to turn in a bunch of cds at sound exchange. i brought in 30 or so cds, but they only took 15. i got 62 bucks from it though! so i decided to get two used sonic youth cds (the rare "sonic death, sonic life" sst released cd and the "made in the usa" soundtrack) and a wolf eyes cd. the new no age album came out today entitled "nouns". i was going to buy it but i downloaded it instead and i can tell you it's my favorite record of the first 6 months of the year (if you don't include the "master dik" reissue). it even beats out the new boris and i thought that would be really hard to do. i suggest anyone who likes good music to either download it or pick it up at your local record store.
i was going to write about noisetar, but i'll just copy and paste the nightwolf bulletin.
"so it turns
tony was going
by the way, it sounds amazing.
so yes the place is mine from june 24th until august 1st. i'll find out if papa johns hired me as a driver tomorrow. i hope so and i hope i work 7 days a week (pj during the week and denny's during the weekend), reading and working is all i need to do in may. it'll keep my mind off of the month and a half wait i have until i move. i do have a new phone and new phone sevice now. i don't know my number off hand and i'm too lazy to look it up so i will not be posting it. i think i texted everybody who reads this my new number anyway.
crushes are for wimps and i rarely develop one on someone, but i guess i have one. it's a nearly impossible one (which is a good thing), but sometimes i wish she didn't live in chicago and she would move to new york city and you know. but it's better off we stay friends anyway, as she's one of the better ones i have.
so i think i found a short term living place in williamsburg (thanks allison). that takes some stress away of trying to find a sublet and not having to live at the ymca. i feel bad for my friend tony cause he is still staying at the ymca and plans on staying there for the full 28 days (you can stay there for 28 days and then you have to move out for 3). so i'll have a month or a little more to find an actual room that i can call my own. exciting! man i wish i can bring up my bike. i mean i can ship it up to me, but i will have to take it apart and then put it back together when it comes up there. i just know i'll miss it and a new one will never be the same as my little red "french comet".
in celebration of finding a place i bought two new books: "altered carbon" and " storming the reality studio: a casebook of cyberpunk & postmodern science fiction". i've been really getting more into the genre cyberpunk lately (it's probably my favorite book genre). i even started a music project entitled dna splice (a william gibson reference taken from the novel "count zero", not from the great band dna). i don't know what kind of music i will generate, but i just wanted to create a cyberpunk "band".
oh yeah, the semester is over and i have a job interview at papa johns on saturday. also, i'm getting a new phone tomorrow, so i will have a new number. i will post it on here when i do get it.
in other news, i served last night. i was nervous at first, but it was fun. i only made 25 bucks in 4 1/2 hours (not including my wage, so in all i made about ten dollars an hour). i prefer serving way over cooking. fuck that hot kitchen!
i decided to check out my friend sabine's lj (i haven't talked ot her in years) and i went all the way back to 2002. i don't know what made me do this. i think boredom and speaking to her today reminded me how awesome she is, so maybe that's why. i remember i used to have a crush on her, but she was with someone and i was with someone, so i didn't pursue it past that.
"PTW, Am. Nightmare, Strife, & Rise Against=good music. Got done super early. Krystan was in rare form tonight.
Met the Uhler, we matched! And what.."
"Uhler is the Diesel god!"
